ABOUT
MO-VEMBER

movember logo

The Movember Foundation is the only charity tackling men’s health on a global scale, year round. The Foundation raises funds to deliver innovative, breakthrough research and support programmes that enable men to live happier, healthier and longer lives.

Committed to disrupting the status quo, millions have joined the movement, enabling the funding of 1,200 projects focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. In addition to tackling key health issues faced by men, the Foundation is working to encourage men to stay healthy in all areas of their life, with a focus on men staying socially connected and becoming more open to discussing their health and significant moments in their lives.

The Foundation’s vision is to have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health.

Evidence shows that men are more vulnerable to many health problems than women and die on average six years earlier. There’s no biological reason for this, it’s largely down to awareness and behaviours. 1 in 7 men in Ireland will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. Testicular cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among young men in Ireland, aged between 15-34, and 8 of the 10 suicides in Ireland are men.
