THE BREW CLASS

VANDAL Coffee, The Greenway | MONDAY 1ST OCTOBER | 6:00PM – 8:30PM

ABOUT
THE EVENT

Learning how to brew your own coffee is an incredibly rewarding experience. If you’re looking to break into the coffee industry, or just want to make exceptional coffee at home, we’ve got you covered.

This informal class is a fun and friendly introduction to tasting and brewing coffee. Aimed at the average coffee drinker who wants to know more about what they’re drinking and how to make a delicious cup at home. The class covers everything from farm to cup and how all of this in turn effects the final cup that you drink. The class is quite hands on, with an introduction to a number of different brewing methods, tips and tricks for getting the best out of your brew, step-by-step guides and demonstrations, as well as a chance to “to cup”(to try) a variety of coffees from around the world, which allows you to taste the abundant flavours coffee has to offer.

We will taste and evaluate these coffees using the techniques and tools used by professional tasters… transforming you from casual enthusiast to seasoned pro.

DANIEL HORBAT

Barista @ VANDAL Coffee

With 14 years of experience in the coffee industry, Daniel Horbat is one of the most respected baristas in the community, believing that a positive coffee experience has the potential to impact a person’s day in a huge way. He has competed on numerous occasions, building a reputable name for himself within the industry. Some of his accolades to date include being a finalist of the Irish Latte Art Championship in 2016 and 2018 and most notably winning the 2016 and 2018 Irish Cup tasting Champion. He has represented Ireland the World Cup Taster Championships in Shanghai in 2016, and is now getting ready for Brazil in November 2018.

Aside from competing, Daniel runs the Latte Art and the Home brewing courses at Coffee Laboratory & is of course the main man ‘ie. Barista’ behind Iconic Offices VANDAL Coffee Co. café. Fresh from his success in the UK Coffee Masters Competition in London earlier this year – one of the most difficult and demanding competitions that requires knowledge of all the aspects of coffee – where he placed 3rd, and his recent win in the Irish Cup Tasters Competition, we are delighted to host this special event with this very special Barista Champion.
