Tell us a bit about your company?
CONKER is a business-led Design, Content and Digital Marketing Agency that launched in March 2017.
We pair Technical, Creative, Design, Content and Digital Marketing proficiency with over 30 years of business experience in many industries and countries.
How long has your business or organisation been operating?
In the grand scheme of things, CONKER is a fresh-faced youngster since we only officially opened in March 2017.
Unfortunately, Orla and I have been operating a lot longer….
What is your role?
As a new business, we both wear many hats. Our primary roles are:
– Sinead Gillett is the Creative Director of CONKER and Chief Content Officer for our clients.
– Orla Veale is the Commercial Director and our Chief Techie.
What problem is your idea, business solving?
Consumer Impatience and Information overload!
Consumers are increasingly becoming more and more impatient. Websites need to be mobile responsive and increasingly clean and simple to use, otherwise, customers grow frustrated and bounce quickly away. First impressions count! We work with our clients to ensure their website delivers what the potential customer needs in that moment.
Information Overload: A big problem for our client is how to be heard and connect with customers in today’s noisy online environment. We help brands find their voice online by creating the right content to engage their target market and making sure it reaches them.
How many people work in your business or organisation?
We have an in-house team of 2.5 with a team of 7 contractors that we bring in to deliver specific expertise for our clients.
How do you think you will benefit from working in a coworking environment?
The creative atmosphere at The Brickhouse is energising and offers lots of potential for collaboration. We have already worked on a successful project with one of our Iconic co-workers.
Why did you feel a shared workspace is the right fit for you/your company?
As a start-up, coming to The Brickhouse has allowed us to bypass the teething problems of setting up our own office and concentrate on what we do best which is servicing our clients and growing our business. Working alongside other creative and ambitious companies keeps us inspired daily.
What would be your Top 3 Tips for anyone looking to start up their own company?
i) Start before you’re ready because you never really are.
ii) Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, that’s how you learn.
iii) Get out and talk to people about your business.
What are you working on right now?
Professionally, We are working on a broad range of projects at the moment: 3 Web Designs, 2 Editorial Calendars, a Video and hiring some new talent.
Personally, Sinead is writing a children’s book and working on a strategy to rid her dog of doorbell mania. Orla is working on her Italian and her endless wanderlust.
What do you need to reach the next level?
We are building our team so talented and passionate Creatives and Developers will help us reach our goals.
Favourite lunch haunt?
Love Mamma Mia Cafe Bar minus Orla’s attempts at speaking Italian to the chefs. Staple Foods for the healthier option.
Favourite after-work haunt?
In-depth reviews in progress but espresso martinis & pizza at Paulie’s is a current favourite.

The people and the inspiring decor 🙂

Working with our clients and seeing their business flourish from our contributions.
