6 Iconic Irish Rugby Moments

Six Nations 2017

The country is currently in the throes of Six Nations hysteria and everyone seems to be jumping on the bandwagon. If you’re not up to scratch on the game with the funny shaped ball, fear not. We’ve enlisted the help of two Irish rugby legends to give us the low down on championship over the next few weeks.

First up, Niall Woods
Ex-Irish International rugby player turned rugby agent, Niall has lived through some of Ireland’s best rugby days and has given us his top 6 ICONIC Irish Rugby Moments, so you don’t have to feel like a spare during the scrum.

6 Iconic Irish Rugby Moments

1.Michael Kiernan’s drop goal against England in 1985 on the way to Ireland winning the Triple Crown.

2. Simon Geoghegan’s try at Twickenham for Ireland v England in 1994 to help Ireland to victory over England for the first time at Twickenham in 10.

3.Brian O’Driscoll scoring 3 tries against France in Paris in 2000 to secure the first win in Paris for Ireland since 1972.

4.Ireland beating England in Croke Park in 2007 in the first rugby match ever to be played at Croke Park.

Watch this space…Jordi Murphy will be giving us his six fail-safe pointers to help you bluff your way through the rest of the tournament on Friday March 10th .

Amy Connaughton COO Iconic Offices

Amy’s our head of all things operational, hence why she’s also know as #bosslady.
When she’s not busy overseeing the success of Iconic, she’s probably watching/ talking about football or Rugby.
(To be fair, this usually means she’s the lady teaching the clueless among us as to what the hell is going on – Thanks Amy!)
