Interior Decor – 10 Must Follow Irish Instagram Accounts

It’s no surprise that we’re a big fans of interior decor and design at Iconic. Whether it’s in the office or at home, they play such an important role in our daily lives, with the capacity to greatly affect our mood and mindset. Design and decor is also something our members tend to be equally passionate about, so we wanted to highlight some of our personal favourite Irish Interior Decor Instagram accounts, full of aspiring and working Interior Designers & Stylists, so you too can be inspired.

There’s no better place to begin your quest for interior decor ideas, than scrolling through the Instagram feeds of interior enthusiasts.

If you’re a fan of sourcing vintage goods, (@VintageHillCork) is for you. Aisling Riordan is the woman behind this stunning home that’s simply bursting with personality. She has a passion for retro design which she has fortunately documented on Instagram for fellow interior lovers to swoon over. Speaking with The Journal, Riordan describers her home as being “very eclectic; a mix of vintage, retro and boho and it has really evolved from years of collecting.”

My Dark Home (@mydarkhome_) is exactly what it says on the tin. If you’re a fan of dark interiors you will relish this Instagram account. Each room is full of character too, with an abundance of different textures, patterns and succulents thrown together in pure bliss. It’s organised chaos but in the most stylish way possible. On top of that, there’s two very regal looking pets (Penny & Alfie) who feature prominently throughout.

Darren Heaney (@oldvictoriannew) uses his Instagram account to document the journey of his 1890s redbrick Victorian terraced house in Dublin. This account is for all of the period home admirers who enjoy a sense of luxury and sophistication in their interiors. Heaney is also an avid lover of DIY and up-cycling projects, sharing his tips along the way.

Another documentation of an old home rejuvenation can be seen with Tanya Ross’s (@6HighStreet) Instagram account. Ross is an Art Director, Design Consultant and Interiors Fanatic, so creativity is in her blood which she showcases in her beautiful 1786 Georgian Home.

A master of upcycling, Yvonne Purcell (@sixat21) has transformed her home using her love of DIY and salvage hunting. There’s a beautiful rustic chic feel to this charming home that definitely gets our vote. And if you want to pick up some DIY skills yourself, Purcell features regular step-by-step tutorials on her stories.

Another upcycler, Saoirse (@shinnyscaf) demonstrates her DIY skills at her home in Cork. We’re big fans of the imagination she brings and the continuous experimentation with unusual colour tones and attention to details. Painting furniture is a specialty of Saoirse’s, we’re intrigued to see what she paints next!

Sarah Twigg Doyle (@Retwiggd), is an interior stylist and recent winner of October’s My House and Home. Sarah is a self-confessed hoarder, but fortunately she hoards the most beautiful pieces that contribute to this stylish and quirky home. We particularly love Sarah’s eye for mixing and matching different textures and furniture styles in such a harmonious way.

‘The House Beyond The Palms’ is an ex-council house renovation (@thehousebeyondthepalms) where Lynn and her husband have transformed their home to be full of vibrancy and personality. Not to mention their two dogs and turtle who frequently feature! They’re also partial to a palm tree (hence the name) which they have planted in their gardens, bringing a little bit of tropical vibes to Ireland, we’re big fans!
